Navigator for i, directory subtree option when changing permissions.

Navigator for i does not have a 'Directory subtree' parameter when changing authority or permissions on IFS objects. Green screen has this parameter which will propagate the change to everything in the directory and below.


Use Case:

Need to grant a user authority to all objects in a IFS directory and everything below that directory. The 'Directory subtree' option in green screen allows this change to propagate to every object in that directory and below.

    In Q1 2023 PTFs, an enhancement was made to allow a user to choose to propagate an IFS authority change. When changing authority to a *DIR object, you can select to change the objects within the subtree if the object specified is a directory or a library. https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6520030

    The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. Navigator for i should do everything the green screen can do.

    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

    The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed.
