The IBM screen design products have lacked proper support from IBM. Developers NEED the ability to preview the screens in design mode IN BROWSE mode. This has been a need since before I started programming (early '90s). At least SDA has the test mode for screens, which is better but still lacks the full control developers need to review screens.
Please reconsider this by opening the member in a as if I had full edit capabilities but do not allow me to save changes.
While we can see the value of the proposed feature, the preview data is persisted in the member so it would require some changes in design to allow the preview data not to be persisted in browse mode.
This is possible, but the value does not compare with other RFEs that are garnering more positive votes.
Thank you for taking the time to suggest this enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. We do not have plans to address your request over the next 18 months due to limited time and many competing priorities, but may consider it at a later time.
If after 18 months, this continues to be important for you business needs, please feel free to resubmit for reconsideration during an appropriate planning cycle.
This RFE is consistent with our strategy and product roadmap and IBM is continuing to evaluate.
