need interface similar to DSPSSTUSR for SST IP addresses

Need to provide an easy interface to the view the TCP/IP addresses and resource names that are used in SST for LAN console and network image catalog setup.
The interface would be similar to the DSPSSTUSR command.

Use Case:

there are TCP/IP addresses that are configured in SST for LAN console. there needs to be a way to display those addresses without entering Service Tools.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed. This request is low priority since it has been open 2 years and it still has a low number of votes.

on Midrange.com it was brought up the ability to display the IP address of a connected LAN console device.
this seems like an extention of this RFE

IBM has received the requirement and is evaluating it. IBM will provide a response after evaluation is complete.

I see this interface as more than just displaying the IP address of the LAN console It could be used to show the up address of network virtual optical drive

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” low priority feature. It is helpful to those who need to know the addresses.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

For more information about CAAC, see www.common.org/caac

For more details about CAAC's role with RFEs, see http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/Blogs/i-Can/May-2017/COMMON-Americas-Advisory-Council-%28CAAC%29-and-RFEs/

    Hi Brian

I have been using the "Locate Console" function in the IBM Access Client Solutions (ACS) for a while now, I've found it to be robust.

Admittedly you would need to know which LAN Port to monitor but given that most systems with Ops Consoles are the smaller models you are both likely to have to do too much plugging.

    Hope that helps. Steve Bradshaw
