Daily operations on the IBM i require our staff to move/delete/download spool files filtered on several output queues, Userdata and Job Information. Many of these filters are the same every day and it is very time consuming to change the information. What we are proposing is something that would allow us to save filters so they may be quickly selected. Another feature would be to add them to a menu where we could provide a better description of the filter and allow us to arrange them into groups.
A use case would be a filter over selected outqs for specific userdata. This would allow us to quickly select a group of spool files and take the appropriate action required. Security reports are generated on a regular schedule and have a quick way to access them will save time and frustration.
The enhancement should also have the ability to easily maintain the filters with features like copy/edit/preview/save/save as and other features that the more gifted than I can imagine.

Thank you for submitting your Request For Enhancement. We understand the value of this RFE, but higher priority items have taken precedence. We are keeping this on our list for consideration in the near future.
IBM understands this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.
The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. This is a solid request that would save time, especially in larger installations.
Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. We also have a need for filters; have independent filters per LPAR, we do not have the same Outq, Directory, ... on our different LPAR and have error messages related to filters when we change system
IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.
