This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The BRMS team agrees with the request and a solution appears to be desirable and feasible. The BRMS intends to provide a solution. However, BRMS plans may change and no commitment is made that a solution will be provided.
This is still on the BRMS team backlog list, the community can continue to vote to influence priority.
The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. Simplifying operations for the Community is always a good ideal, if it is easy enough to implement.
Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

The BRMS team will use this request as input to planning but no commitment is made or implied. The request will be updated in the future if the request is implemented. The BRMS team will use votes and comments from others in the community to help prioritize this request.
Thank you for your response. The suggested 2-step process is a manual process, which does not meet the customer requirements. Our request on behalf of the customer is an automatic process. We suggest the functionality be added into the display log BRM with an option to automatically place it in the IFS, thus eliminating the 2-step process.
The BRMS team needs more information to further assess your Request for Enhancement. There is a 2 step process which can meet this request. The DSPLOGBRM command parameter OUTFILE(*PRINT) will store the output in a spooled file named QP1ALG. The CPYSPLF command has functionality to copy spooled files to stream files along with offering different format options. Here is a link to the CPYSPLF command function: https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1011580 Please add a comment to this RFE to let us know if this recommendation is sufficient for your use case. If so, we may consider this as delivered.
