This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The file systems perform the appropriate system auditing at that level which would not have knowledge of what commands or utilities are being performed by PASE or Qshell. Utilities run within PASE or Qshell are not CL commands which at this time are the only commands logged in the system audit journal.
We understand that security is important and that this is an issue for you, however, IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed.
We understand this requirement and the concern from a security perspective. Utilities run from Qshell and PASE are not CL commands
and only CL commands are currently audited.
We will consider what can be done for Qshell and PASE with regard to logging information, although it may not be in the system audit journal.
A combination of audit and command control capabilities, e.g. provided through exit points, would take great steps to securing what is mostly an IBM i security black hole now.
We have had numerous customers request the ability to audit and secure command execution in the QSHELL environment.
In addition to auditing capability, exit points should be in place to allow control or administration of command execution in the same manner that is available when executing native IBM i commands.
The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed.
Background: The CEAC members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT

Very much agree with Kurt, an audit trail should be available
This goes beyond IFS and applies to all commands executed in PASE, as originally categorized. The request highlights a need for command auditing/governance in PASE as the trend with new developers and open source favors this environment over native command line.
Usage of PASE / QShell commands needs to be recorded in the audit journal, for the same reason that usage of CL commands is.
