RETURN value from REXX Procedure to CL/ILE via STRREXPRC

Thank you IBM for providing an easy means of passing parameters *to* a REXX procedure via the STRREXPRC command. However, unlike the CALLPRC command, there is no RTNVAL parameter on the STRREXPRC command to provide an easy means of receiving a value *from* a REXX procedure.

Use Case:

Please provide a RTNVAL parameter on the STRREXPRC command so that a REXX RETURN instruction can easily pass a value back to the caller.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed.
The reason is that, when command STRREXPRC executes in a CL/ILE program, the control is transferred to the REXX interpreter, and then the REXX interpreter processes the source line one by one. When REXX interpreter is invoked at this circumstance, the calling CL program is removed from the call stack, and there is no way to receive the RETURN value. This is different from a standard CALL.
