Use Case:

Opened PMR 26279,122,000 asking what command to use in a scheduled job to restore several user libraries from backups using BRMS to different libraries and the reply was to use RSTLIBBRM. When we did this, journaling is started by default and the journals are restored to the original libraries instead of the new ones where we want them. In PMR 29317,122,000 the reply was to submit a RFE request to add the parameter Start journaling Yes or No to RSTLIBBRM.

    The BRMS team believes that the request described has been solved and is available with the 7.5 base release.

    The BRMS team agrees with the request and a solution appears to be desirable and feasible. The BRMS intends to provide a solution. However, BRMS plans may change and no commitment is made that a solution will be provided.

    This RFE is on the BRMS team's prioritized list for future implementation. However, in the meantime, does the work-around mentioned in the Comment below by CAAC fit the need for your Use Case?

    The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. There may already be a work-around for your scenario for setting up test libraries -- couldn't you just do a CPYLIB instead?
