This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

These featuers were shipped with these PTFs MF67585, SI73777, SI73828.
Please apply the latest PTFs MF68276, SI75827, SI75262 to use the ObjectConnect over IP.
I notice this is still out here as "Uncommitted Candidate" -- native TCP/IP support was added to ObjectConnect in i7.4, so I think this is actually delivered!
The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. Bring us up to the 21st century.

Part of the reason why SAVRST* is slow, is because of the default on the value for the "LDLC link speed" of the CRTCTLAPPC command. The default is *CAMPUS a value from tokenring. Change this value to *MAX and you will notice an improvement in speed. At least we did.
Greetings Rudi
I'm voting for this, but not for the authors reasons. I just want to be able to stop creating APPC configurations just to use ObjectConnect! We have some in-house tooling based on ObjectConnect. It would be nice to have to path away from APPC without losing the gem that is ObjectConnect.
IBM has received the requirement and is evaluating it. IBM will provide a response after evaluation is complete.
