ACS System positioning

When using the Integrated File System of IBM i ACS, there is an option to end a file to another IBM i system. As we have several systems in the System Configuration it would be nice if we could use a letter to start positioning when selecting a system.

Use Case:

When you use the Integrated File Systen function available in in IBM i ACS, the option send will result in a dialog window in which you can select a System as the destination. When you have several systems defined this means you have to scroll down to select the correct system.

The requested support was added to the IFS send feature and will be available in our September 2021 update. In addition, support was added to several other panels where you can select a system from the configured list of systems by typing the name. The down arrow key will display the entire list of configured systems. The insert key or ctrl-i will enable the text box for typing any system name.

IBM understands this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed. Other parts of ACS have better positioning capabilities -- consistency around the better positioning capability would be good across the board. An example would be the behavior in the Schema database list, where typing a 'P', for example, rotates through the names that start with that letter.
