This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Once you have selected the system you want, you can also launch to the specific function you want directly from the System Configurations panel without having to go back to the main GUI.
Marking this as Delivered since the existing features meet the requirement.
That will work. I see that I can sort by description, select the system and then close the System Config screen and the correct system is selected on main screen. Not ideal but it works.
You can also launch to a specific feature of ACS from the System Configurations panel (available from the main GUI by selecting System Configurations). Changes were made in version 1.1.8.2 so that the System Name and Description are next to each other on this panel. Select the Name or Description. Then launch to a specific feature of ACS using either the menu bar or the context menu via right-click.
Does that meet the requirement?
I proposed something similar but it was declined… https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=126938
I feel that a user should be free to determine the name... otherwise the "description" is useless if it is not shown in the drop-down.
Have tried creating a host name record via DNS or hosts file?
