RELATED IDEAS

Port .NET (Core) to IBM i via RPM

Now that Mono runs on IBM i (thanks to Calvin Buckley again!), it should be possible to port .NET Core, which is now the main .NET Framework, to IBM i without such a big effort.


Use Case:

Porting lots of .NET Server Applications to IBM i, using DB2 will be a big step into a growing IBM i base. Also the .NET Developers (there are millions) will be a good base to hire new IBM i Developers who then will learn the benefits of the platform without jumping into other programming environments.

    Markus, this is a great RFE. And now we knows it works it will be quite obvious to have it as an RPM directly available with YUM.
