Time format *HM for RPG and DDS

We have fields in date and time format and they work excellent. When converting the time field to or from a numeric field, I'm missing the format *HM. As it is now we can convert a field using the format *HMS. Many times seconds are not nescessary.

In RPG it can be relatively easy converted but I'm missing this format in the display file. And here the TIMFMT(*HM) would be very usefull. Today we are using numeric fields to accomplish this.

Use Case:

In RPG:
dcl-s Zoned4 zoned(4:0) ;
dcl-s Time1 time;

Time1 = %time(1540 : *HM); // Time1 = 15:40:00
Zoned4 = %dec(Time1 : *HM); // Zoned4=1540

Today we are converting it like this:
Time1 = %time(1540 *100: *HMS);
Zoned4 = %dec(Time1 : *HMS) / 100;

In the DDS display file ( only hours/minutes not seconds are shown. Seconds are set to zero):
A TIMFLD1 T B 5 2TIMFMT(*HM)

    The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

    Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

    To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT

    Emcook,
    the format *MMDD will cause you problems because what year should the date field contain?
    If you type 1231 should the year then be 0001?
    And what about 29 february that doesn't exist every year?

    Also have *MMDD for Month/Day for date format
