Persistent cache for Run SQL Scripts

Presently Run SQL Scripts keeps a cache of tables and columns, but that cache isn't persistent. I does not cache SQL statements at all. A persistent cache would improve usability.

Use Case:

Content assist for tables and columns is very handy, but every session has to take the time to download that data from the server. If it could be cached client-side, that would make use much faster. An option to manually refresh would handle server-side changes.

Cached prior statements would allow me to retrieve and modify ad-hoc queries I was using previously.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT

IBM has received this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.

If people have not done this already download the latest version (1.1.8.5), there are updates made to the CA feature.

In dealings with ACC IBM folks, I have been told the tool does cache for the open session, once an item has been loaded into CA it is supposed to get to faster.

I do know that qualifying all database objects greatly improves the time to get CA to load the database items.
