This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The ACS Ingrated File System - Send function creates a temporary QIFS* library in ASP1 under the covers as part of the send process.
This is fine as long as the the IFS object(s) being sent are not larger than the spare space in ASP1.
The size of the IFS object(s) would likely have to be quite large to cause the Send process to blow out the available ASP1 disk space (not a good outcome), but it is possible that some customer systems have an ASP1 with high disk space usage.
Is it feasible to include a check in the Send function that calculates if the IFS object(s) to be sent would put ASP1 on the source and/or target system in danger of exceeding any preset usage threshold or reaching 100% full and crashing the system?
Perhaps consider the current usage threshold for ASP1 and use that as its yardstick to determine if the Send can continue.
This question was asked in the follow up information in the above stated Support Case. It was advised by ACS Development to submit the question as an RFE.

IBM understands this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.
The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a HIGH priority requirement that is important to address. Having this is functionality would remove the chance of accidentally crashing a system.
Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
