We would like more detail included in the monitor messages in Navigator i, such as Job Name/owner and so on.

We currently have message monitors setup on our IBMi system to track and report when a job goes into MSGW state. The monitor works, but there is no detail in the report/eventlog, can more detail be added, such as Job Number/Owner and so on. Thank you.

Use Case:

This would be used in the AS400 system to report jobs that go into error state with the MSGW error.

.This information is available in Navigator monitors. Use the replacement variables to add in Job name, owner, text, etc. See this link for more information and links: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/1163998. The new Navigator interface also has the ability to display the available variables while creating or editing your monitor. Check it out!

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT
