In Db2 Web Query for i, allow *CURRENT, &MDYY or other special values for DATE Parameter on Scheduled report.

When scheduling reports which require a date parameter in WQ, it would be helpful if the Report Scheduler of Standard Edition could use a Special Value to indicate Today's date. Currently not supported and per Support Case, scheduler is "working as Designed". With proposed enhancement, users could schedule reports to run on period ending dates and not have to worry about setting/changing the date. A single report containing a date parameter, could serve both Adhoc users from the BI Portal AND scheduling needs for distribution.


Use Case:

Report is created in BI portal that enables user to print YTD summary as of a specific date. Later user desires to run report each Month-end at 11pm in addition to on Adhoc basis. In order to use same report, you need a way for report to operate with entered date AND with Today's date. However, scheduler at present does not support Today's date concept. You must enter specific date. By adding special values capability to the scheduler, similar to what can be coded in a FEX define, would permit &MDYY, &TODAY, *CURRENT or some such value to be converted at Run-time to the current date. Reduces number of report duplications for specific cases.
