Work with IP connections > show current user

When using WRKTCPSTS OPTION(*CNN) the system offers filtering options using F15. There is a lack of filtering by user name (which is possible using Navigator for i - column filtering) to find a specific user connection.
By the way - the user name shown here is the user the service is running on at connection start. If there is a context switch (like on FTP) this user is now shown but it would be very great to have the current user shown and being able to filter.

Use Case:

running on systems with high number of concurrent connections (even from same source IP address) it is very hard to find a specific connection, for example to determine networking issues.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed. This team has a list of higher priority work, so they will not be able to implement this function anytime soon. You may be able to use the SQL service, NETSTAT_JOB_INFO, that returns the user as the AUTHORIZATION_NAME to satisfy this request. See NETSTAT_JOB_INFO view in Knowledge Center (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/ssw_ibm_i_74/rzajq/rzajqviewnsjobinfo.htm) for additional information on this service.

IBM has received the requirement and is evaluating it. IBM will provide a response after evaluation is complete.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT
