NodeJS 8+ for IBM i V7R1

Port NodeJs for V7R1 or if it might be possible to give instructions how to compile it from scratch

Use Case:

We have many machines with V7R1 on it and we are not getting new ones in near future.

.We are delivering new versions of Node.js on supported operating systems only. For instance, Node.js 16 is only available on IBM i 7.3 and newer.

You could try using nvm as documented at https://bitbucket.org/ibmi/opensource/src/master/docs/nvm/
If you run into any issues, you could open defects against the Node.js repository on GitHub, though we can make no guarantee your issues will be addressed

Thank you for your advices. But I can't run node14 under V7R1M0.
I get error messages "libperfstat.a(shr_64.o) can't be loaded". I think under V7R1 libperfstat.a is not present.

Follow the Unix instructions, get a copy of the AIX C/C++ compilers installed into the PASE environment.
