ACS Printing Support

At the moment the Basis Operation, like work with printer is included at navigator for i. My proposition is, that this have to find place one step back like work with outq.
I need to allow a customer for navigator for i although he has to work only with printer. It is very dangerous allow customers for navigator for i.

Use Case:

Allow user to work with printers without access to navigator for i with all functions.

This is possible today using the Function Usage restrictions, you can limit users to very specific functions with in Navigator. Thanks for submitting but will be closing at this time, we will continue to review the needs of the customers and may consider adding to ACS in the future.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” LOW priority feature.

Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT

    Morning

If I understand your RFE correctly, you would like to be able to limit access for Nav4i functions on a user by user basis. So, as to allow only those functions that are appropriate to each user.

if yes, you have this customisation available to you today, Nav4i respects the same Administration Restriction rules as the old Windows Navigator client. You can set these restrictions in the Nav4i Interface by Clicking on System, then Application Administration.

    I hope this helps.
