This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

I hope you won't tell me this should be a separate request but in addition to not liking the alarm for going beyond the end of the source (for each line you exceed it on), I don't like any of the noises RDi makes for the same reasons as listed above. When I'm searching a source member and it wraps, etc.
I do think a better solution would be to make these sound items separate preferences in settings.
I am dumbfounded at this response. I know that the development team has many things they are working on, but this issue makes RDi *****TOTALLY UNUSABLE**** in an open work environment. If I'm editing code and it pushes beyond the end of the entry area, the repeated beeps drive all my coworkers crazy. My only workable choice is to turn off sounds completely on my machine. Then I can easily miss alerts, reminders, appointments, etc.
This may be enough to drive me to a different editor.
I can live with this RFE not being resolved, but at least under consideration for eventual resolution. I am so extremely disappointed. To simply decline it is unbelievable.
A co-worker of mine and I have over 80 open projects. Everyone knows we won't get to things soon, but we don't decline to do things that just can't be made a priority.
Very sad.
Thank you for taking the time to submit your request. After careful consideration, we know that we cannot deliver your requested enhancement in the near term, so it is being declined. However, your request does align with the future strategy of our product and we believe it may have future value, so we will add it to an internal list for us to keep in mind for the future.
We have reviewed this requirement and we feel it would be a beneficial enhancement to the product. We hope to be able to add it to our development plans in the future.
Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for Power Systems
For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Developer for Power Systems
Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.
A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
Personally I'd like a way to always shut off the beep when going past column 80, even (especially) in RPGLE.
