This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.
Welcome to the IBM Ideas Portal (https://www.ibm.com/ideas) - Use this site to find out additional information and details about the IBM Ideas process and statuses.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM not implement this request. This may be a Citrix configuration issue -- it likely does not have anything to do with ACS.
In at least in one significant customer instance that CAAC is aware of, it was not a memory issue. The problem was resolved by running the applications with the Citrix profile manager.
The problem was a profile issue. Are you using Citrix Profile Management with roaming profiles? The problem the known customer had on their last Citrix Deployment was that they were running Citrix Profile Management & Roaming Profiles. There is a registry hive that ACS needs that is not supported using roaming profiles. The customer since moved off of Citrix Roaming Profiles & they are using a product for profiles called Profile Unity by Liquidware.

To reduce the memory requirements, here are the options available today:
1. The article you referenced https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-i-acs-memory-usage Once you figure out the memory settings needed, you could update the installation script so the required memory settings would be used. Note that different types of users will likely have different memory requirements.
2. Many features in ACS are also in Navigator for i including 5250 emulation. You may want to consider having some users use Navigator for i to reduce the overall memory requirements on your Citrix server.
3. If 5250 emulation is the primary feature being used, you may want to consider purchasing Personal Communication for 5250. That emulator will be very similar to IBM i Access for Windows.
We will continue to consider ways to optimize memory usage, but cannot make any commitment as to if and when that will happen.
The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a HIGH priority requirement that is important to address.
Whilst this does not necessarily apply to a large number of end-users, by definition when it does it can hold back the migration of many thousands of users to ACS. We, therefore, think IBM should address this issue and optimise ACS for high-density Citrix environments.
