Replace trigger while active

When there's a need to replace a high level language trigger, an exclusive lock is required to the program object.

In a 24/7 system this is almost impossible what makes the use of triggers a no-go.

Programs in use (apart from triggers) can be replaced without an issue (they're moved to QRPLOBJ) so this doesn't seem a reasonable requirement.

It should therefore be possible to replace trigger programs as well while the file is being used.

    Unfortunately this requires at least V7R3 while we still have a number of customers on V7R2 and even V7R1.

    IBM believes that the request described has been solved.

    In 2015, a new QAQQINI option was introduced that allows trigger programs to be replaced while they are in use. The following link provides information about the ALLOW_DDL_CHANGES_WHILE_OPEN QAQQINI option:
