IBM Db2 11.1 introduced a new scalar function FIRST_DAY to return the first day of the month.
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/db2/11.5?topic=functions-first-day
Please port this function to IBM Db2 for i.
Make SQL more readable.
Make SQL more portable between IBM Db2 for other products.
Potentially better performance from a native function vs. a UDF to compute this value.
The similar function LAST_DAY already exists in Db2 for i.
