Extend RPG compiler messages to support modern RPG naming
The current design for the compiler messages does not support the enhancements to modernize the RPG language. When messages are returned to a client via the *EVENTF option, the replacement values for the messages are limited to legacy system names. The event handling for clients needs to be enhanced to support longer field names. This should also include the data structure name if the data structure is qualified.
Sample messages return via evfevent: RNF7030: The name or indicator PROCEDU... is not defined. RNF7030: The name or indicator PROCEDU... is not defined. RNF7030: The name or indicator FIELD1 is not defined.
Would like to have: RNF7030: The name or indicator ProcedureOne_Call is not defined. RNF7030: The name or indicator ProcedureIn is not defined. RNF7030: The name or indicator ProcedureOut.Field1 is not defined.
Do not place IBM confidential, company confidential, or personal information into any field.
