Autosave source changes to IBM i

It would be helpful if Rational Developer for I would automatically save source code changes up to the IBM i system at regular intervals.


Use Case:

A programmer opens a source member in RDi and spends several hours making changes to it. The PC crashes and the source code changes are lost. The mechanism (in RDi) for restoring from a local backup on the PC does not work for "whatever reasons" and several hours of productivity are lost. The RPG programmer goes back to using the green-screen Source Edit Utility because in the previous 30 years SEU has not lost any of their source code changes.

    We have considered this request and have decided that there is not sufficient value to proceed with this request. The intention of autosave is to recover a member in case something goes wrong and the current autosave to local disk does this with much less demand on resources.
