This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

We need 1 to 3 new User Profile attributes added to Source File Member descriptions.
Creator (Added by user profile)
Change (Data Last Changed by user profile)
Custom User Profile (application controlled)
The creator user profile should be assigned to the Member description when the Member is added to the file. It should be returned by QUSLMBR and QUSRMBRD APIs, and RTVMBRD CL command.
A 2nd user attribute, Last Data Changed By user profile would updated in the Member Description whenever the data in the source file is updated. This can either be via an application-specified registry (can't be doing this for regular Db2 database files) or an user-callable API. But the system-generated feature for source-only would be great.
Another, less critical attribute that would be nice to have but isn't a show-stopper, is another "User Profile" attribute on the Member description that we can use for user-defined interfaces, such as version control/change management tasks. For example, I'd like to give developers a way to "check out" a source member and then I can know who has that member checked out by looking at its description.
The Member ADDED-BY-USRPRF attribute is the real request here.
As the use of things such as FTP, HTML, CSV etc become popular on this platform, the use of Members in files is increasing beyond just Source code.
We have users running jobs that add a member to a source file that is then archived. For example, UPS and USPS labels, FTP scripts and more.
It is important to be able to know who (which user profile) added that member to the file.
