Today we can save and restore from a 632B device using STS LAN Adapter and NFS built-in client.
If you enable STS LAN Adapter to be used as an standard interface and use sockets or PASE during restricted state (different RFE) we will be able to backup our system to the network with QANESAVA, SSH or interact with the system while activity is down remotely.


Use Case:

We could use QANESAVA to perform a cold backup to the network, send alerts during a backup process, use SSH client to send files to a remote location, etc

    IBM does not plan to provide a solution for this request. Due to the requirements of restricted state, it is not possible to run QANESAVA, SSH, or other TCP/IP servers. Restricted state is a condition where all the subsystems on the IBM i have ended and only a single user job remains active in the controlling subsystem.
