please add option to automatically convert ebcdic to ascii data during "integrated file system" file download in IBM i Access Client Solutions
We have a lot of files which are stored within IFS in EBCDIC format.
When we download these files they should be automatically converted to ascii to be readable on PC.
It is also OK for me to add a checkbox on every download (or in global options) if translation should be done or not.

This is available in the August 2020 1.1.8.5 update. An option has been added to "Download..." for converting a text file to UTF-8.
If you download a .txt file (CCSID 37) from IFS the resulting file on the PC remain in EBCDIC. It should be converted to ASCII so that the file is readable on the PC.
We would like to poll the voters of this RFE with the following question :
Since ACS runs on several platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac), would providing an option to convert to UTF8 on download suffice? If your answer is no, please clarify your specific requirements.
IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.
This RFE's Headline was changed after submission to reflect the headline of an internal request we were already considering, but will now track here.
