Add native DB2 support for UUID columns

Add a new native data type of UUID to store standard 128-bit UUID values in a native type. Also add SQL functions to generate a new UUID, convert UUID to/from canonical string representations (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx), and the ability to use a UUID as an identity column.

Use Case:

Modern distributed architectures need to support globally unique identifiers across platforms and servers.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed.

Adding a new native UUID data type to the database would be very costly, and is not considered worth the investment required.

Providing a scalar function that generates a UUID is something we might consider as a future enhancement, but do not believe it will happen in the next year.

ROWID is an IBM specific concept that is only useful for identity columns of a table. UUIDs are an open standard, widely used throughout many industries, and natively supported in other high-level languages such as Java.

While we do not support a UUID column today, we do support a ROWID column which serves the same purpose.
A ROWID is supported by both Db2 for i and Db2 for z/OS.
