Add Job Date Column as SPOOL FILE CREATION JOB DATE to OUTPUT_QUEUE_ENTRIES UDTF

The CREATE_TIMESTAMP column of the QSYS2.OUTPUT_QUEUE_ENTRIES UDTF is the System Date/Time that the SPOOL file was created. However, the need for the Job Date/Time on which the SPOOL File was created is needed. Need a new column JOB_RUN_DATE that is also a TIMESTAMP with the date/time of the job at the time the SPOOL file is created.

Use Case:

For whatever reason, I need a job to run with a date different from the System date. That job creates spool files into an output queue. I then use OUTPUT_QUEUE_ENTRIES to query the SPOOL files and do something with them. However If I use the Job Date to query the OUTQ I do not see the SPOOL files it just created.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed. This request is rated as a low priority and still has a low number of votes.
The information is not available from the Spool component, so could not be returned by this service without additional work by the Spool team. As a low priority request, this work is not going to be done.

Bob, can you claify? Are you talking about the date and time if the user does a CHGJOB with the DATE keyword?

The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” low priority feature.

Background: The CEAC members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT
