Provide additional attribute for Adding trigger to enable them either for Interactive session or batch session.

Please provide an option to select either for interactive session or batch session while adding triggers to database files.

It would help in a big way to develop access log applications for GDPR.

Use Case:

With the GDPR implementation in Europe, it is required for many companies to maintain the access logs of database files. In that case, it would be better to provide an option for firing triggers only interactive session.

IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed.

Triggers are intended to enforce changes through any interface. Consider using the QSYS2.JOB_NAME built-in global variable to determine what type of job is running to build job-aware logic into a trigger program

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM not implement this request. Putting this capability inside a trigger program is a matter of retrieving the job type and taking appropriate action, so no change needed.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

You can work around that by getting the Job Attributes and select only the interactive sessions.
