In RDI ability to exit program debug immediately as in F3 using green screen STRDBG

Using green screen STRDBG, while stepping through any program using F10, if the developer presses F3 to exit, the program stops running immediately. This is a bit of a safeguard to many developers where they know they can end a job midstream.
This function does not exist in RDi. Yes, I can press the red button to terminate a job but that only terminate the debugging session and the program runs to completion which is not desirable in many cases.

As a presenter of RDi debugging I am asked this question quite often.


Use Case:

Testing a new program and don't want to execute any more program instructions, which might include additional programs from being called, etc.

    We have reviewed this requirement and we feel it would be a beneficial enhancement to the product. We hope to be able to add it to our development plans in the future.

    I would like to bump this request. It's actually becoming frustrating that this is the only function which I cannot perform via RDi directly. I still do the majority of my debugging within STRDBG on a green-screen because I feel safe having the option to terminate a program at any time if a logic issue is discovered. It was requested in 2012 (ID 20273) and again in 2015. It's now 2020... Should we make a new request for the same thing so it doesn't continue to get buried?

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
    Product - Developer for Power Systems

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

    Isn't this RFE a duplicate of 20273 and shouldn't the votes of the two be combined as a measure of the support?
