RELATED IDEAS

HTTP server not running in QHTTPSVR can not be managed by HTTP ADMIN

With the announcement of IBM i 7.1 TR 9 and IBM i 7.2 TR 1 it is now possible to let an HTTP server run in it's own subsystem. When looking at the following link "http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1020061" it appears that this new functionality is not made available in the HTTP *Admin server GUI in the proper way.


Use Case:

If there is a GUI to maintain the HTTP servers on the system, you should be able to configure all the options with this GUI and most important, the status must be available in the GUI.

    The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a high priority requirement that is important to be addressed. If IBM made a change to allow the server to run in a different subsystem, you should be able to manage it with the IBM tools (GUI).

    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

    The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a high priority requirement that is important to address.

    Background: The CEAC members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
