Expand RPG Outline as soon as possible

When opening up a source in the LPEX editor, the outline immediately shows "Global Definitions" and "Subprocedures" in a collapsed mode. It's not until it finishes resolving everything before it auto-expands the Subprocedures list. This means that when I open up a new source, I have to expand the Subprocedures list so I can click on the procedure to quickly navigate to it.

Use Case:

I'd use this the majority of the time that I open up a RPG source member.

We have done a lot of changes in the latest versions. Can you try it and see if it's good enough for you now?

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for Power Systems

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Developer for Power Systems

    Kurt,

Thanks for clarifying this for me. I added my vote.

Michael, I am not asking for anything different in regard to what expands, only how quickly it does. What I'm referring to already expands, but not until the parsing of the entire source is complete. You can manually expand it prior to parsing completion. However, once parsing completes it does expand the subprocedures.

For what you're talking about, I think another RFE should be entered. I know personally for me seeing the list of subprocedures is critical.

I like the idea of this RFE. However, I would suggest that it be implemented with a Preferences option. People might want to expand different parts of the outline upon opening a source member--e.g., Fields, Files, etc.

Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.

A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
