Client Access (Access for Windows) provided keyboard mapping. When using Access for Web it doesn't allow you to map specific functions (Field Exit, Destructive Backspace, Field Plus etc.) causing users to have a more difficult time entering data requiring the use of the mouse.
It should recognize the user group, administrator, or individual user levels for control.
System: Access for Web
Actor: End User
Use case for the system:
DBU Data Entry with a locked program or any entry program.
Scenario: Using DBU or any entry program to edit a file. Steps include:
Bring up the file in DBU the fields are populated with the current data.
It positions the cursor to the first input field. The user has to use the delete key or the space bar to remove the existing characters because if they start entering characters it moves the current characters to the right. If the field is a numeric field the end user then has to enter the data and right adjust it and press the enter key. If we could map a key to emulate Field Exit the end user could enter the data and press the Field Exit key and it would clear the field and right adjust and process the field.
If the end user wants to go from one line to the next they can use the tab key but if the field is extends beyond one line the tab key goes to the next field. If we could map a key to be the New Line key the end user could press that key and go from one line to the next line and not the next field.
