Why was it declined? This is an obvious developer productivity issue. These kinds of changes are so much easier with Microsoft SQL! Literally everything can be done from the GUI and you can generate a change script to deploy to production that does ALL those steps for you with any type of schema change. So much more efficient with Microsoft SQL Server.
