Add mail forwarding capability to the new *SMTP and *SMTPMSF server types

Add mail forwarding capability to the new *SMTP and *SMTPMSF server types

Background
The older *SDD smtp mail server which depended on the System Distribution Directory has the capability to configured a user's directory entry to allow mail sent to him to be forwarded to another address, either on the same IBM i machine or to a different domain, which will be forwarded out to a mail forwarder

The new mail servers of type *SMTP and *SMTPMSF do not have that capability.

We are planning to convert to one of the new types, but we cannot because we depend on that forwarding function to forward mail for selected users to an outside mail server.

Use Case:

A user leaves the HQ site to do an itinerary.

We should be able to change the user's mail directory record to indicate an address to which to forward his mail to an external mail server while he is away to allow him to access it.

Type *SDD mail servers allows this function while the new *SMTP and SMTPMSF types do not.

IBM believes that the request described has been solved in IBM i 7.5 by adding support to SMTP for automatic email forwarding.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a high priority requirement that is important to be addressed. This is an important gap in the newer function that needs to be addressed.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

For more information about CAAC, see www.common.org/caac

For more details about CAAC's role with RFEs, see http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/Blogs/i-Can/May-2017/COMMON-Americas-Advisory-Council-%28CAAC%29-and-RFEs/

This is a valid requirement. It is possible to let the *SMTP and *SMTPMSF type of mail server supports this capability as *SDD smtp server does. In which release you requires this feature?
