Name the SQL programing language PL/SQL on IBM i

When coding stored procedures, UDTF and compound statement we have a nice language without a name.

To be consistent across the industry it seems like the name PL/SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language) is used for other databases - including Db2 on other platforms.

ie take a look at Db2 11.1:
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEPGG_11.1.0/com.ibm.db2.luw.apdv.plsql.doc/doc/c0053610.html

Use Case:

When searching the net it will be nice if also IBM i related stuff appears when you search for PL/SQL. Also for discussions in general it will be nice to refer to the SQL programing language in a common way:

Q:
"Will you implement this stored procedure in PL/SQL or JAVA?"

A:
"I will use PL/SQL in this project"

The Db2 family of products uses SQL PL (SQL procedural language) as the name for what is used to write SQL functions, procedures, and triggers. This has been added to the Db2 for i SQL Reference and will continue to be used in other IBM generated material going forward.

An example of using SQL PL is here: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_74/db2/rbafzsqlpl.htm

The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

Background: The CEAC members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT
