Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

commit & rollback in Toolbox ribbon in Run SQL script

It would be great if Run Sql Script could have two new buttons - "commit" and "rollback" in Toolbox ribbon.
if these two could be available only when applicable
-> if isolation level in opened JDBC connection = '*NONE' THEN "greyed out" else "available" end;

Use Case:

. When JDBC connection has isolation level other than "*none" programmer needs to remember to add manually commit or rollback to the list of commands for execution otherwise all changes they made are going to be rollback once connection is dropped.
With those two buttons user would know if commit/rollback needs to be executed to close the transaction.
It's not the game changer however it may increase productivity and decrease frustration rate when happens once programmer realises that all changes they made yesterday magically disappeared :)

    IBM understands this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.

    The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

    Background: The CEAC members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

    To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT

    IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.
