Disallow read-write shares of the root of the IFS

All read-write shares of the ROOT of the IFS on IBM i should be prevented and disallowed via NetServer and SAMBA etc.

Use Case:

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Thank you for submitting this request.

While we understand the intent to protect the file systems and the system in general, there may be legitimate reasons an administrator would want a read-write share to root.

We recommend setting permissions appropriately on your directories, and expect that RFE 107575 will be a much better solution overall.

I don't like this RFE, a share (masked and protected) of the IFS root can sometimes be very useful for administrators, mainly on smaller systems.
To provide an improved protection for shares is, at my opinion, a better solution.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Power Systems
    Product - IBM i
Component - IFS (Integrated File System) and Servers
    Operating system - IBM i
    Source - None

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Power Systems
    Product - IBM i
    Component - Networking
    Operating system - IBM i
    Source - None

I guess this is a personal decision (not a wise one), but I suggest to have a look at https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=107575

This RFE would allow to limit which users can actually use a share (now everyone can and it only depends on the actual object authority) like it is on Windows.
