RELATED IDEAS

Allow group profile password *NONE = *YES for IWS

Allow group profile to have no password in order for the business to use group profiles to deploy IWS installs. Currently fails and have to use their own user profile. This is not allowed and must use a group profile. Group profiles do not have passwords. IBM design should allow group profiles with no passwords to deploy installs for IWS.


Use Case:

IWS is used for ID Anywhere RESTAPI.

    What exactly is the recreate steps? is it simply running the install script under a user profile that has a group profile with a password of*NONE?

    The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM not implement this request. The request, as we understand it, would violate security best practices.

    Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

    The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.
