Improve SQLUDT's

While SQLUDT's are the ideal replacement for the reference files in DDS, their use is not so flexible.

The first issue is that two columns defined as the same SQLUDT are not considered equal, hence one needs to program additional cast statements which is not natural.

The second issue is that SQLUDT's can't be altered (for example extending the numeric range) and need to be dropped/recreated which again is impossible if used in a table (which again leads to alternative methods instead of create or replace table functionality).

Use Case:

Use SQLUDT's as the ideal replacement of REFFLD's.

Unlike the link suggests, this does NOT work on V7R3 ! (it's neither mentioned in the manual)

With IBM I 7.4 DB PTF Group 7 and IBM i 7.3 DB PTF Group 18, weakly typed distinct types were added to SQL. This sounds like what you are looking for. See https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6174189 for details.
