When the compare view will allow merging as requested in RFE 70905 it should also enable syntax highlighting and accessing the outline, so you can work with the code like it was opened using the "compare" action in good old CODE/400.
(Please consider also RFE 21383 which originally requested the color feature)
We have development and test sources. Sometimes the development version and the last test version differ in many ways and only a part of the newly developed code should be transferred to the test source whereas other parts still remain in development.

I'm sorry, but neither syntax highlighting nor outline are parts of the new compare feature (Version 9.6.0.8).
We now support member compare which does a better job of showing differences, and allow users to merge the code. Released in version 9.6.0.0.
Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.
