This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

In today's world IP address are frequently used for accessing nodes instead of the FQDN.
For this the New Navigator for i is no exception to that rule, but when working with nodes an mane can be helpful in order to keep nodes apart.
In the new Navigator for i a node can be added with the Node hostname and the Node Display Name which does make sense. However, when selecting a Node in the new Navigator for i it is not the Node Display Name which is shown in the top right corner of the webpage, but the Node Hostname is displayed.
As you can leave the field Node Display Name unchanged after entering a value for the node hostname. By default it will get the same value as the Node hostname when you do not touch it, allowing the user to enter another value for the IP address of the hostname used you give him more flexibility.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a “nice to have” low priority feature. It would be good if IBM can fit this in...
Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
