Docker on IBM i Merged

Docker is a technology that allows for applications to be created, deployed and run using containers. This allows applications and services to be built and deployed on any operating system that supports Docker.

Use Case:

The current plan is that IBM Verse on Premises (VoP) and IBM Connection 6 (PINK) will only be supported on platforms that can run Docker containers.

Customers that run their IBM Domino and Sametime servers on the IBM i and want all of their IBM Collaboration solutions to be deployed on the IBM i are dependent on having Docker supported on the platform.

can this be "re-activated" for the RPM's now that 5733OPS is EOL ?

Choosing Domino/Verse on IBMi is not possible for us as the commitment to and duration of support has been less than predictable. We were planning to further investigate this option until the announcement of changes to support for the platform. We would prefer to run Verse etc. on the Power + IBMi platform as it is the most robust, dependable and supportable platform we own. The problem with expanding our portfolio of systems to include AIX or Linux is that it adds cost to our support infrastructure.

It is a duplicate. I chose to submit this one since the priority of that one was Low and I submitted this one as High. I have linked this RFE to the one submitted earlier this year.

I believe this is a duplicate of one submitted earlier this year: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=106483
