Add *YEARLY Option to Job Scheduler Merged

The Add Job Schedule Entry (ADDJOBSCDE) command has options for Frequency of *ONCE, *WEEKLY, and *MONTHLY. But we have the need for a *YEARLY option.

Naturally, the CHGJOBSCDE and WRKJOBSCDE commands would also need to be changed to handle this new option.


Use Case:

Currently, we have to use code similar to the following (when the job actually runs) in order to reschedule the job for the next year.

The problem with this is that programming is required each time yearly jobs are added or removed. It would be much preferable if this were exclusively controlled by the job scheduler.

    This is the same as 33397, under the Work management category. So I am adding 33397 under the Links and closing this one as a duplicate.

    The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

    Although there are alterantives, CEAC recognises the value of the RFE as the WRKJOBSCDE is still used by the majority of small system users.

    Background: The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

    The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM not implement this request. Advanced Job Scheduler provides this service, and a lot more.

    A few days ago someone already put in a request for this. However, I don't feel that IBM is going to put effort into changing the built in scheduler when other options are already available.
