New Password Hashing Algorithms

Our team works in a highly regulated field and has to deal with audits to ensure compliance with regulations. Our company also has additional audits from clients that go beyond what the regulations require. These audits involve certain security checks.

In order to securely store passwords for one of our clients we do audits with we need to store passwords with one of the following algorithms: bcrypt, pbkdf2, or argon2.

Use Case:

Secure password hashing (bcrypt, pbkdf2, or argon2) will improve security and ensure compliance with audits and regulations.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your request. Sorry it was originally duplicated to the wrong existing request. We were unable to include the API level support in with 7.5. We know that we cannot deliver your requested enhancement soon, so it is being declined. However, your request does align with the future strategy of our product and we believe it has value, so we will add it to an internal list for us to keep in mind for the future.

This request was made a duplicate of https://ibm-power-systems.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/IBMI-I-1571. However, while related, they are not for the same support. Reopening this request for consideration.

This is actually a duplicate of mine... https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=118497

Mine got closed by accident by IBM as after trying the suggested solution it seems the API doens't provide the requested functionality. Since I nor IBM could re-open it, IBM suggested to create a new RFE but since you did now I'm happy to vote for yours.
