Merged idea

This idea has been merged into another idea. To comment or vote on this idea, please visit IBMI-I-1913 Multi-Tab view in Run SQL Scripts.

Within Run SQL Scripts, allow for multiple tabs Merged

When working in Run SQL Scripts, if the user changes issues/problems/focus, a different collection of SQL statements/scripts may be needed. Currently when this occurs, the user must save the current SQL "session" to their local storage, and start a new "session". When the user's focus returns to the previous issue, the new session must be saved and the original found and reopened. Every time focus changes, save and reopen.

We need to have a way to easily switch between multiple sessions without having to close/open. We need the ability to have multiple sessions open at the same time within tabs.

The ability to leave tabs open and close the Run SQL Scripts application without loosing work would be a major plus as well. When the app is reopened, all the tabs from before when it was closed would reopen as well right back to where you left off. Nothing would be lost unless you close a tab without saving first. (Notepad++ does this.)

Use Case:

If Run SQL Scripts had tab capbilities, then when an end user calls and requests some information, one could quickly open a new tab, code and run a query, and respond with the answer. For there, just hang up, save or close the new tab, and you're back to what you were working on before with limited interruption.
