Keep cursor in prefix area

Modify operation of the editor so that after a prefix (line number) area command (e.g. "cc/cc", "a", "dd/dd") is executed, the cursor remains in the prefix area.

Currently (8.5.1),it appears that the cursor remains in the prefix area when "half" a command is entered (that is, one part [e.g. "mm/mm"] of a two-part command [requiring "a/b/o"]), and the Status Line displays "Pending". After the command completes, the cursor returns to the source text area, column 1, even if another pending command exists. To complete the pending command, or to enter another line command, one must reposition the cursor back into the prefix area.

Use Case:

Enter two "cc/cc" pairs of commands in the prefix area, and press <Enter>. Then type an "a" in the prefix area.
The first command executes, copying the first "cc/cc" lines after the "a" line. Now the second "cc/cc" command is pending, but the cursor has moved into the source text area.

You're right! I never noticed that about SEU; how about that?! ;-)
I agree with you; thank you!

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for Power Systems

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Developer for Power Systems

Upon further investigation, we have determined that RDi's behaviour is consistent with SEU and we don't think it would be wise to differ from that standard.

    Thanks for your support
